Bridging the Gap Between Heavy Metal and High Tech
As part of CAT Digital, I lead the UX team for AI Experiences, where we are redefining the relationship between humans and heavy equipment. Following the recent unveiling of the Cat® AI Assistant at CES, my team is focused on delivering seamless, multimodal interfaces—integrating speech, text, and video to make complex machine data actionable. We don’t treat AI as a futuristic concept; we treat it as a practical tool for the jobsite, ensuring the machines that build the world are as intelligent as they are powerful.
"Caterpillar is still the company that builds and powers the physical world you rely on every day — and now we’re making the invisible layer of the modern tech stack more intelligent." #
"Some of the things I hear when I talk to customers are, 'Hey, we have a shortage of operators, and we have new operators that aren't skilled and experienced...' The Cat AI Assistant helps address all these things." #
— Joe Creed, CEO Caterpillar
"In the age of AI, NVIDIA and Caterpillar are partnering across the full spectrum — from autonomous construction fleets to the AI data centers powering the next industrial revolution." #
— Jensen Huang, CEO NVIDIA
"We’re thinking about AI not as some abstract, futuristic concept, but as a practical way to solve real problems in real environments. When you’re operating a machine that weighs tens of thousands of pounds... precision and safety are not optional." #
"Our strong digital foundation, including our Helios data platform... is helping us move fast and deploy new AI capabilities to help our customers succeed." #
— Ogi Redzic, Chief Digital Officer (CAT Digital)
